HS&E Manager - Agriculture - East Africa

We are currently representing one of our most appreciated clients, a large agriculture operation in East Africa, in their search for a Health, Safety and Environment Manager. We are looking for an experienced Health, Safety and Environment professional, who is open and ready for a new challenge for this exciting company.

The new Health, Safety and Environment Manager would be a fundamental part of the company, ensuring that all standards and systems are in place to provide a safe and environmentally sustainable working space. You will be reporting to the general manager and become a respected part of the Senior Management team.

The new Health, Safety and Environment Manager would be responsible for:
- Implementing, developing and revising the management systems in regards to environmental, social, health, safety and quality parameters,
- Working together with each of the production departments to create a comprehensive training scheme and management systems, balancing operational effectiveness and levels of control
- Auditing and liaising with international certification body to ensure that these certifications are upheld, such as ISO, ILO and OHSAS,
- Manage an out grower scheme that complies to all company-owned health, safety and environmental standards
- Supply the General Manager with reports in timely intervals.

Requirements

The ideal candidate for this position would have a background consisting of:
- Educated up to a degree level in accountancy, finance, business, science or related qualification,
- With at least 5 years of relevant work experience,
- Possessing excellent interpersonal and communication skills,
- A results oriented attitude, supplemented with strong planning and operation skills,
- Competent with IT systems
