About the Business

Description and Desired Qualifications
CH2M HILL HSE Manager (Saudi National) - Jeddah, KSA CH2M HILL is providing project management services for King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) and the neighboring town of Thuwal in Saudi Arabia. Situated on the scenic Red Sea an hour north of the second largest Saudi Arabian city and seaport, Jeddah; KAUST is a truly spectacular facility, and is slated to become a major center of research, training the next generation of scientists, engineers and technologists in the Middle East. We have secured a four-year-plus contract with Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco)for a wide array of projects at KAUST. They include specialized laboratories, research centers, innovation and technology incubation centers, administration buildings, a convention center, mosques, residential and recreational facilities, research park infrastructure and security systems. The work also includes site development, communications equipment, utilities, roads, parking and landscaping. In addition to the 14-square-mile KAUST campus, the program will be developing the town of Thuwal itself, with the construction of schools, a clinic, mosques, roads, Coast Guard and National Guard facilities and a fishing harbor. General SummaryThis position assists in the development, implementation, and administration of safety, health, environmental protection, and substance abuse prevention programs affecting employee and public safety, occupational health, fire protection and prevention, and equipment and property protection.

Essential duties and responsibilities

- Responsible for moderately complex technical work in a wide range of HSE disciplines to achieve compliance with CH2M HILL's HS&E standards and regulatory requirements, and works under very general direction and independently determines and develops approaches to solutions.
- Responsible for implementation of field and office HS&E program and occupational safety and health regulation on a project.
- Conducts reviews of potential risks on projects (HS&E, contracting, and insurance) and identifies potential mitigation measures.
- Monitors and prevents chemical, physical and biological hazards and diseases that could be present in the work place.
- May act as a lead person or technical expert and provide direction to less experienced personnel.
- Conducts regular walk through inspections of construction areas, and investigations in accordance with legal requirements.
- Designs or modifies workplaces, processes, products or other systems to control or eliminate hazards.
- Inspects or surveys workplaces, processes, products or other systems for compliance with established safety and occupational health policies or standards and to identify potential new hazards.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

Job Requirements/Qualifications/Experience: Minimum years of experience: 15

Has experience in the building industry or similar industry and has Health, safety and Environment (HSE) experience on large projects.

Capable of preparing HSE plan for grass root projects.

Has experience in coordinating with IK HSE organizations.

Capable of leading the site risk assessment study and generating the Process Safety Management program for the project.
