Employment: Full Time

Our client are a leading Qatari Company who are looking for a HSE Manager to work on a major port project in Qatar.

The HSE Manager will be responsible for the design, implementation, communication and coordination of all environmental, health and safety programs for the department.

Key responsibilities of the HSE Manager include:
- Directing the resources and activities of the Department to support the HSE programs by providing advice and guidance to the Company Senior Management
- Continually maintaining an appropriate level of awareness, knowledge and preparedness across the Department to create a culture that prioritises effective HSE and balances overall associated costs
- Reviewing internal HSE policies and practices to ensure that they are current and appropriate with the latest national and international practice conducting hazard and risk assessments and changing existing, or developing new recommendations from these assessments
- Staffing and directing the HSE Department, including all Field Safety staff, and coordinating training programmes which will increase proficiency in safe practices and promote HSE consciousness
- Providing regular written reports as well as other production-related results and updating senior management
- Assisting the project team in investigation of all project incidents and ensuring proper records are completed and submitted
- Addressing specific reporting and record keeping requirements of OHSA, EPA etc.

Requirements

The HSE Manager will have very good written and oral communication skills and excellent computer skills.

- Bachelors Degree (4 year) or higher qualification in Safety, Engineering or a related technical field
- At least 20 years of construction safety experience managing project safety
- Good negotiation skills and the ability to make good judgements and render good decisions
- Additional certificates and licenses are beneficial: OSHA 10 & 30 trained; OSHA 500; ASP and CSP
