Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Roles and Responsibilities

1. General
Develop, implement and manage HSE policy, procedure and practice across all departments and sites and ensure that policies and procedures are strictly adhered to, in order to maintain the integrity of the operational activities.
Liaise as necessary with other organizations and relevant authorities to ensure compliance with legal obligations and statutory requirements.
Proper and timely assessment of risks and subsequent implementation of appropriate action and interventions.
Promote a culture of responsibility, compliance and continuous improvement for all aspects of HSE.
Develop and drive initiatives to minimize accidents and incidents.
Provide reports and audits for use by the company and client, as required.

2. Health and Safety
Develop, implement and manage emergency procedures, first-aid facilities, safety signs, relevant protective clothing and equipment, accident and incident reporting to the relevant authorities.
Manage and control policy, procedure and practice for exposure to hazardous substances and dangers, electrical equipment, noise, and manual handling equipment, and all other potential risks.
Ensure that working environments across the company satisfies health, safety and welfare requirements for ventilation, temperature, lighting, sanitary, washing and rest facilities. Also food handling, preparation, and hygiene facilities, where appropriate.

Requirements

1. Education / Qualifications
NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety)
Diploma in H&S Management.
Professional Membership of IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) or IIRSM (International Institute of Risk and Safety Management).
Engineering degree/Diploma will be a distinct advantage.

2. Experience
10 years of in-depth HSE management experience in a similar role.

3. Job Knowledge & Skills
Consistently monitor processes, systems, and procedures to maintain optimum operational capacity.
Able to understand and analyze complex information and present it simply and accurately.
Knowledge of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations or equivalent.
Knowledge of ISO management systems and implementation.
Good level of interpersonal and communication skills. Collaborative style. Fosters and
develops beneficial partnerships.
Provide high level of customer service to both internal and external customers. Prompt
response to all queries.
Excellent time management skills and able work to strict deadlines. High level of self
motivation and able to work with minimal supervision.
Fluent English language ability both spoken and written.
