Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

HSE Manager - Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

- Ensures alignment of output from team to comply with MODONs development standards. Ensures alignment of review process, including tracking, signoff and feedback in accordance with the Department structures, systems and processes.
- Provides guidance to the project design engineering work.
- Resolves specialty HSE issues by applying accepted principles, codes, and standards.
- Develop and manage the MODON programme H&S management system that demonstrates H&S leadership, manages H&S risk, communicates H&S information, promotes design for H&S, entrenches H&S practices, behaviors and attitudes and continually improves H&S performance.
- Provide programme assurance by conducting audits, participating in regular meetings and monitoring of key performance indicators to ensure that all safety standards and procedures are properly implemented by the individual PMC companies appointed to oversee the design & build contractors.
- Recommends and implements tactical direction for elements of HSE Program, and recommends improvements in processes, design procedures and safety equipment to minimize hazard levels.
- Must keep fully informed on all existing and proposed changes in OSHA and EPA regulations, protective equipment requirements and permit requirements, and reviews and implements standards promulgated by regulatory authorities.
- Responsible for the most complex technical work in a wide range of HSE disciplines to achieve program compliance.
- Scope of work may include both the consulting and construction business units.

Requirements

- College graduate of relevant Engineering or degree holder.
- More than 10 years of experience in HSE is a must and a distinct advantage with large projects.
- Predominant HSE experience gained in the Middle East; MENA and KSA experience is an advantage.
- Preferred OSHA (USA) or IOSH (UK) membership / qualifications (NEBOSH) certificate or a diploma (optional).
- Has demonstrated experience in site development infrastructure and building industry and has Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) experience on large projects.
- Has experience in coordinating with In Kingdom HSE organizations.
- Capable of leading the site risk assessment study and generating the Process Safety Management Program for the project.
- Has experience in site development infrastructure and the building industry or similar industry.
- Should possess good oral and written communication skills.
- An operational background is definitely a plus point but a person having sound analytical and problem solving skills would also make a good safety manager.
- Aptitude to accept challenges and confront risks. Good administrative and team skills are preferred.
- Highly skilled in the analysis of technically demanding safety issues and information and the ability to quickly identify any underlying associated risks and control measures.
- Be fully conversant with techniques used in the management of hazards and advising on suitable measures which can be used for preventing and ultimately recovering from accident situations.
- Good computer knowledge is ideal, especially the use of spreadsheets and presentation programs.
