Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

* Provide day to day field support in the identification, assessment and monitoring of HSSE hazards and layers of protection to prevent incidents.
* Support contractor safety management activities including provision of oversight of the contractor's HSE self-verification processes and Safety Management Systems (SMS).
* Provide coaching/oversight that HSE systems and processes are understood, implemented and sustained.
* Provide support to the HSE Manager (Wells) on additional business requirements
* Act as a focal point for HSE Manager & Well Site Leader (WSL) on all Wells HSE issues.
* Advise and provide support for contractor oversight to ensure contractors are adhering to their SMS.
* Actively engaged in day to day support of site activities and activity planning with an independent perspective on risks and the strength of the layers of protection
* Provide coaching/verification that HSE systems and processes are understood, implemented and sustained
* Conducting HSE-related self-verification and supporting self-verification plans.
* Monitor contractor JSA toolbox, task, and risk assessment to ensure all HSE hazards are identified and adequately addressed.
* Systematically test the contractor's HSE self-verification process to assure that people are appropriately trained to conduct their work safely in accordance with approved procedures.
* Conduct HSE verification activity as to whether Wells contractor SMS bridging requirements are implemented.
* Verify that an effective, efficient and trained contractor emergency response organization is in place.
* Conducting HSE-related activities in support of Operating Management System (OMS) conformance and HSE regulatory compliance.
* Support or participate in Incident Investigations as requested to determine root causes and development of corrective actions

Requirements

* Degree in Engineering, Science - HSE related preferred.
* Minimum of 4 years HSE related experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
* Demonstrated understanding of contractor SMS's and SMS bridging requirements.
