Job description / Role
Our client is a world leader in the production of industrial paints and coatings and we are recruiting an HSE Manager to ensure that the statutory and company standards and requirements are adhered to within the production environment.
Only candidates with experience of working in HSE&Q within chemical manufacturing and industrial paints and coatings will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring that all health, safety and quality standards, policies and procedures are implemented and being adhered to and providing effective training to all employees
- Developing, implementing, monitoring and reviewing protective and preventative measures to minimize risks and accidents
- Preparation and implementation of the safety manual, policies and procedures in line with the HSE policy
- Developing and implementing risk assessments in all work areas
- Auditing and conducting investigations and reporting on incidents and accidents
- Liaising with the Municipality of matters related to HSE&Q
- Developing and conducting training programs to improve safety performance and non-compliance in all areas
- Works with the technical and production managers to improve safety and compliance in all processes
- Investigating and carrying out corrective actions related to safety and environmental issues
- Ensuring that all hazardous materials and waste are handled, collected, stored and disposed of safely
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Environment Health Science or Industrial Hygiene
- Formal qualifications in HSE&Q related to chemical engineering and paints or chemicals manufacturing and production
- Professional qualifications in NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO, OSHA
- 8 - 10 years experience in HSE&Q within the paints, coatings and chemicals industries
- Minimum 3 - 4 years experience in HSE&Q management
- Excellent working knowledge of international and UAE health, safety and quality standards related to occupational health and safety, hazardous materials and environmental issues
- Computer literate
- Ability to prepare reports and audits
- Strong investigative skills with the ability to close out issues with satisfactory resolution
- Ability to liaise with external parties such as the Municipality and contractors
Candidate Profile
- Fluent in English - good verbal and reading skills
- Male
- Aged between 30 - 40 years
- Living in the UAE or GCC
