Hairstylist

Job description / Role

- To provide beauty services such as cutting, shampooing, coloring and styling hair, and treating and massaging the scalp. This job specification may also include dressing wigs, performing hair removal and providing skin and hair grooming services.
- Cutting hair
- Shampooing, conditioning and rinsing hair
- Providing services such as conditioning, bleaching, permanent waving, tinting and straightening hair
- Drying and styling hair using combs, brushes, straightening irons and any other equipments
- Shaving and trimming moustaches and beards
- Cleaning, coloring, adjusting, curling and cutting wigs and hairpieces
- Assisting other hairdressers with shampooing, client preparation, applying and removing simple hairdressing treatments
- Attending hairdressing training and seminars in order to keep up to date with emerging techniques and products
- Ensuring a warm friendly welcome to costumers at all times.
- Listening, understanding and repeating the wishes to costumers and addressing their requirements
- Taking care of the day-to-day activities involved in running the salon.
- Operating a computer and cash register
- Keeping inventories of shop equipment and supplies
- Ordering and receiving supplies
- Keeping client records and scheduling appointments
- Performing reception duties including answering phone calls and enquiry emails
- Selling retail products and write up client record cards
- Cleaning the salon, equipment and work areas
- Hairstylists are required to maintain a clean and well-lighted environment;
- Ensure that a cleanup is done immediately after each client and are constantly disinfecting reusable tools, ensuring a clean workspace.
- Sterilizing and maintaining equipment in good working condition

Requirements

- Any degree, hair styling graduates are preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role with an understanding of all aspects of the hairdressing industry and of changing fashions and trends.
- Styling cut and coloring skills.
- Know how to do bleaching, permanent waving, tinting and straightening hair
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Passionate with some creative flair with attention to detail
- Know how to do Shaving and trimming moustaches and beards.
- Know how to Sterilize and maintain equipment and keep them in perfect working condition
- Have good selling skills
- Ability to use a computer.
