Hardware Architect

Job description / Role

To Administer, Install, Monitor, Operate, and Maintain stotage capacity systems SAN/NAS, backup system and the hardware resouces for Multi-Platforms servers, in order to maintain high level performace/availability for systems and business applications.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Hardware Installation and support of a large complex multi-platform environment.
- Configuration, Operation, Troubleshooting and hands on experience with mainly EMC & Sun SAN Technologies
- Installation, operation of fiber channel SAN with multiple directors,SAN Switches, servers, storage frames, and backup technologies.
- Configuration and setup of Network Attached Storage (NAS) NFS exports and CIFS shares.
- Configuration and setup for whole SAN system including fiber Switches and related fiber media between SAN and servers.
- Configure and Setup and manage physical disks, volumes, RAID system and LUNs over SAN.
- Configure and manage Physical and Logical storage drives and related RAID system for all platforms and servers.
- Installation and maintenance of the enterprise class backup and recovery software and hardware, EMC products (Networker, Avamar, and Data Domain) for backup of Multi-Platfrom Systems (Solaris,Linux,Windows, AIX, HP UNIX etc.)
- Peform Hardware preventive/operation maintenance for different hardware architectures (SUN Servers,HP Servers, Dell Servers, IBM Servers)
- Perform resource monitoring, performance tuning, and scaling of storage/hardware resources (CPU, memory, capacity ...etc) infrastructure as needed.
-Work with development initiatives to proactively prepare storage & hardware resources needs, and input these needs on design/implementation considerations.
- Log management and analysis, for SAN storage, backup and hardware related logs.

Requirements

- Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
- EMC and/or Sun storage certified.
- Minimum 5 Years experience in operation of SAN / NAS storage, Backup system administration and HW maintenance for multi-platforms servers.
