Our Dubai-based client is looking for a creative Western Chef to manage all operations of their caf style establishment. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who can bring a western influence whilst retaining the Khaleej heritage and showcase your creativity. Passionate about food, pastry experience, creative, along with experience in a caf style establishment are essential for this role. Due to the success of their first outlet they are due to open a second outlet close to the Burj Khalifa area.

Requirements

- Preparing and properly presenting food for regular service and functions
- Supervising and coordinating kitchen staff activities
- Collaborating with the restaurant manager to plan and develop recipes and menus, considering factors such as seasonal availability of ingredients, the likely number of customers, portion size and final menu price.
- Providing the costings of new menu items
- Maintaining budgetary targets
- Checking the quantity and quality of all products received to ensure items are as ordered and standards have been met
- Monitoring and maintaining stock levels to reduce wastage
- Inspecting all equipment, work areas and general supplies to ensure conformance to established health and safety standards
- Instructing and training other kitchen workers in the preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
- Monitoring and enforcing sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow set standards and regulations
- Ordering required food and other supplies
- Determining the production schedules and staff requirements necessary to ensure timely delivery of services
- Assisting in recruitment of kitchen staff
- Discussing with the restaurant manager any equipment purchases and repairs required
- Meeting with customers to discuss menus for events such as weddings, parties, and banquets
- Negotiating order supplies and prices with sales representatives
- Other tasks as required
