Head - IT Infrastructure

Job description / Role

Head - IT Infrastructure will be responsible to ensure the availability of IT infrastructure throughout the Bank. He will manage team members responsible for Data centers, Servers, Storages, Operating systems, Network, IT Security, Telecommunications, end-user computing devices and communication channels. He will also be heavily involved in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning.

This role reports into the Head of IT and will be responsible for IT infrastructure strategy, staff management, budget management, procurement and contract negotiation.

Key tasks and duties
- Design and execute short plus long term strategic plans to assure infrastructure capacity attains current and future needs.
- Develop, execute and oversee procedures, policies and related training plans for project management and infrastructure administration.
- Manage and establish priorities for maintenance, design, development and analysis of entire infrastructure systems inclusive of LANs, WANs, internet, security and wireless implementations.
- Conduct research and recommend changes in services, products, protocols and standards to support development efforts and infrastructure procurement.
- Manage data centers and measure its performance. Track and assess equipment availability, assess and manage critical facilities, and measure data center energy consumption. Proactively identify and mitigate potential issues.
- Define and manage IT Disaster Recovery Strategy for organization.
- Define software and hardware standards in collaboration with stakeholders and owners.
- Test server performance plus provide network presentation statistics.
- Report and prepare strategies to maintain server infrastructure.
- Ensure apt security levels on network, infrastructure and servers are maintained.
- Oversee operational costs, conduct near along with long-term financial estimates for expanded functionality and user base.
- Ensure to practice IT asset management inclusive of component inventory maintenance and associated documentation.
- Negotiate with outsourcers, vendors and contractors for infrastructure-specific products and services.
- Perform feasibility studies for different upgrade projects, conversions and improvements.
- Manage Renewal of Annual maintenance contracts, and maintain IT annual budget for IT infrastructure component.
- Compliance with banks Information Security Policy and procedures
- Handling the role of BCP Coordinator for Information and Transformation group.

Requirements

- An ideal candidate should have a Bachelors Degree in a technical field and a Masters Degree is preferred.
- 8-10 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, skills and experience
- Demonstrated experience in IT Infrastructure Management
- Strong technical knowledge of hardware, network, telecommunications and security
- Extensive application support experience with Microsoft Exchange and Domain Management
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development
- Exposure to 3rd platform
- Certified in or strong knowledge of ITIL
- Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Exceptional customer service orientation
- Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Ability to present ideas in business-frindly and user-friendly language
- Ability to be on-call at certain times to support necessary IT initiatives
