Job description / Role
Purpose of Job:
To develop and implement an investment strategy which meets the company's corporate Strategy,identify and analyze new business opportunities in order to achieve the company strategy.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Identify new business & investment opportunities through industry contacts and proactive analysis of the industry and investment markets etc.
2. Conduct a screening analysis of potential investments to create a shortlist of targets for more detailed assessment.
3. Conduct an investment grade analysis and assessment of investment targets for presentation to the Ikarus investment committee.
4. Work with senior management and 3rd party advisors to assist in the due diligence and deal execution processes.
Requirements
- University degree, preferably in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or other Engineering discipline. The ideal candidate would also have an MBA or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years experience in the energy or petrochemicals sector, a substantial portion of which must have been in a corporate Business Development role.
Knowledge
- Structure and dynamics of the energy and chemical industries
- Principles of financial analysis, investment analysis, company valuation etc.
Personal Skills
- Fluent English is essential; the ideal candidate would also have fluent Arabic
- Conceptual, analytical and strategic thinking ability
