Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

* To ensure that the shape and quality of the Retail Lending Portfolio is in line with the ME strategy and contributes to the strategic vision of the ME Consumer Bank
* To ensure policy decisions help create the right target portfolio, meet group and regulatory requirements. These should be streamlined to ensure effective and high quality risk assessment.
* To provide data / Analytical / Scoring support to stake holders, including Credit, Finance, Group and Region and in ensuring this supports the right decisions being taken at all levels

Key Roles & Responsibilities:
* To drive analytics in partnership with business to determine the target portfolio for the business.
* To make policy decisions to grow / reduce the business in line with the business' Risk Appetite and target portfolio.
* To translate the policies into the right underwriting standards and ensure that the end-to-end customer lifecycle performance (from underwriting through to collections and recoveries) is in line with expectations. To take corrective actions if not.
* To monitor the health of the portfolio in terms of both long term vintage performance and loss forecasting.
* Ensure that the development and implementation of credit decision data and analytic infrastructure happens per plan. To drive continuous improvement in cost, quality and speed of the output.
* Ensure the upgrading the analytical abilities in the credit space (including system and people capability).
* To help drive the Basel 2 effort for Consumer Banking, work closely with Group Scoring and Group Basel implementation team
* To exercise Risk Control Ownership for Operational Risk in respect of Policy and Analytics and carry out their responsibilities with the support of the organization at the Group, Country and Business levels.
* To drive forward bank commitments such as the customer charter.

Requirements

- Post Graduate Degree in any discipline, with track record with reputed institutions
- Extensive knowledge of Consumer Banking credit risk management, business practices and regulations.
- Excellent knowledge of all Consumer Banking products, procedures & policies acquired through actual experience in Consumer Banking.
- Experience in managing Risk in advanced and/or emerging markets
- Knowledge of the complex and potentially volatile ME markets - highly desirable
- Knowledge of core credit, risk analytics, scorecards & risk models
