Head of AML Sanctions - Dubai

A global consultancy firm are looking to recruit an experienced Head of AML Sanctions for their Dubai office. You will manage a team of people within AML-Fraud Sanctions. Your role will be to provide anti-money laundering (AML) and sanctions related advice (including anti-terrorism, fraud and financial crime related matters) to a variety of clients.

You will manage the resources for AML and sanctions, in particular manage the performance of team members, develop employees, provide leadership and direction, and ensure compliance with internal requirements.

Responsibilities:
* Ensure client's AML and sanctions compliance framework remains manageable whilst meeting national and international regulatory requirements
* Identifying AML risk in business practice e.g. on 'Know Your Customer' (KYC) and screening against sanctions or PEPs lists.
* Selecting and implementing appropriate and effective controls to manage these risks, including transaction monitoring or payment filtering system
* Responding to regulatory intrusion and requests
* Addressing potentially extensive product and sales remediation exercises to achieve regulatory compliance
* Improved management and staff awareness of money laundering risks, helping to reduce the risk of future regulatory breach.

Provide clients with outstanding AML and sanctions compliance advice and assistance, across a wide range of areas:
* Systems and controls
* Data and documentation
* Incident management

Requirements

* Minimum of Bachelor's degree holder. Master is preferred.
* 10+ years working experience in Banking industry ideally
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in AML & CTF functions within financial institutional.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Previous experience with AML & CTF and exposure to internal control functions a plus.
* Strong Analytical skills.
* Knowledge of AML Rules and regulations
* Experience in dealing with regulators, an existing network is an asset
* Project management skills
* Arabic language is an asset
