Employment: Full Time

A leading Private Hospital in Dubai, providing a high standard Healthcare Services; Looking for a Head of Accident and Emergency Department, Attractive basic salary plus additional benefits are on offer

Full responsibility for managing the Accident & Emergency
Unit operationally as well as management of Physicians within the unit.

Required to be involved in non-clinical hospital matters.

Responsible for compliance to the ethical and professional standards set by the hospital and regulatory authorities.

Key Outputs:
- Provides Clinical care/services to patients presenting at the department, according to current best-evidence based standards, using best judgment at all times and in accordance Hospital Rules and Regulations.
- Provides comprehensive management and organisational oversight of all aspects of the department.
- Participates in the oversight and professional development of assigned junior medical staff, and other professional staff.
- Participates in the educational activities of the Medical Staff as a whole.
- Conducts clinical audits in line with Medical Advisory Committee requirements.
- Participates in review and planning activities relevant to the development of the department's service and the hospital.
- Participates in activities and opportunities to promote the department's service and the hospital to the general public and wider medical community of Dubai and the UAE.
- Fulfills professional requirements for continuing maintenance of competence.
- Carries out other assigned duties within the appropriate scope of knowledge, skills and abilities of the position.
- Liaises with patients, families, medical staff, nursing staff, other clinical staff, referring doctors

Requirements

* Basic Medical Education Degree recognised by the Dubai Health Authority AND completion of Recognized Specialty qualification like FRCP or similar.
* Current certification in ATLS, ACLS and APLS.
* Minimum of 10 years experience since gaining higher qualification.
* Minimum of 5 years Consultant/Specialist experience in a Western hospital setting is desirable.
* Relevant Management experience
* Demonstrated commitment to continuing medical education.
* Appropriate experience and competence in all aspects of Accident and Emergency medicine, including both adult and paediatric patients.
* Leadership skills appropriate for a highly functioning clinical team.
* Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, nurses, doctors and other hospital staff.
* Ability to project a positive public image of self, department and hospital.
* Fluency in Arabic will be an advantage.
