Job description / Role
The Head of Accounts will be responsible for leading the consolidation and financial reporting of the organisation and its subsidiaries under IFRS. The role provides leadership for accurate and efficient consolidation and external reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee all aspects of the accounting and control functions and ensure that all regulatory requirements are complied with.
* Manage consolidation and integration frameworks, preparation of communications and analyses for management discussion.
* Supervise the submission of quarterly financial reporting packs from all business units, ensuring accuracy and absence of fraud.
* Meet all legal reporting requirements.
* Coordinate with legal, treasury, and auditors on pro-forma financial statements and other financial information for inclusion in the prospectus for bond / MTN issues.
* Oversee group accounting procedures and ensures compliance by all group companies.
* Develops and maintains effective relationships with external auditors and other service providers.
* Manage quarterly and annually the external audit and reviews.
* Provide effective leadership to the corporate accounting team.
* Develop a strong team with relevant accounting skills and foster a high performance environment.
* Oversee preparation of detailed IFRS accounting papers for technical questions and transactions and proposals.
* Prepare analysis for the Executive Counsel.
* Responsible for all quarterly and annual financial statements.
* Manages and coordinates the Government Audit.
* Responsible for the integration of any new entities into the financial reporting cycle.
* Approves any new accounts creations on the ERP Systems.
Requirements
* Candidates must be ACA / ACCA / CPA Chartered Qualified and ideally also hold an MBA.
* You must be have at least 5 years at a senior level, experience of managing and leading a team, and have strong IFRS reporting skills.
* Preference will be given to any Emirati candidates.
