Head of Advanced Security Investigation Section Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Salary / Package TBC

Our client is currently seeking to hire an individual to head up their Advanced Security Investigation Section. The main function of this role will be to guide and control the effective, efficient and discretionary investigation of security breaches and the proactive review and pattern analysis of potential threats and vulnerabilities, so as to identify the security gaps, provide to the management analytical reports of the incidents investigated and facilitate the implementation of corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Contributes to the development of divisional strategy and ensures translation and alignment during the development and monitoring of departmental strategy including objectives, targets and initiatives
- Recommends improvements to departmental policy and directs the implementation of procedures and controls covering all areas of the departments activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to customers
- Prepares and recommends the departments budget by preparing analysis and data related to specific elements as directed
- Monitors the financial performance of the department against budgets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon
- Supervises the day-to-day operations of the department to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established policies, processes and procedures
- Reviews the reports of security violations and directs their investigation so as to identify security gaps and to propose corrective actions
- Receives ad hoc requests from management regarding the investigation of identified or suspected security breaches, so as to provide a thorough and independent view about the incident
- Controls the analysis of all available data and information and monitors the transactions under investigation, so as to identify the degree and importance of the security breach
- Develops analytical report for management use on the investigation findings and illustrates the roots of the incident analyzed, proposing solutions that will protect the Bank from future security breaches
- Follows up on the implementation of the proposed actions, i order to support the creation of secured environment of banking operations
- Keeps maximum discretion of the investigations conducted and complies with all the applicable local and international regulations and standards regarding the investigation of security breaches
- Stimulates subordinates and contributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account international best practice, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement
- Leads and directs the management of change through continuous improvement of division systems, processes and practices taking into account international best practice, changes in international standards and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans
- Prepares timely and accurate reports to meet the bank and department requirements, policies and standards
- Represents the function and actively contributes in various committees/meetings (internal and external) as applicable and per authority levels in order to ensure relevant matters are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner
- Ensures all staff have clear objectives, regular performance feedback sessions, formal annual appraisals, and individual development plans, with particular emphasis on the development of talented Saudi national staff
- Ensures and facilitates the employment, training and development of staff within the Advanced Security Investigation Unit
- Ensures compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the department in order to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude
- Performs other related duties or assignments as directed

Requirements

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or IT Engineering or equivalent preferably at a post-graduate level
- At least two internationally recognized digital forensics certifications
- 8-10 years of hands-on experience in IS Security including at least 5 years of experience in digital forensic investigations

Language: English - Advanced

Technical Knowledge / Experience
- Excellent knowledge of banking systems and applications
- Knowledge of the banking operations and requirements
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of information security, digital forensics, and relevant tools and systems
- Excellent knowledge of the programming languages and systems used by the Bank.
- Advanced knowledge in the investigation and analysis of security breach incidents
