Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Provide high quality teaching and learning in Arabic and Islamic studies and leading the Arabic team in implementing string and creative pedagogies to ensure high standards of Arabic and the IB skills of research and enquiry are embedded within the curriculum. To provide leadership and management to the Arabic and Islamic Studies team.

- Responsible of running the departments daily affairs
- Implementing the strategy and curriculum approach in Arabic and Islamic Studies
- Managing the performance management of the team
- Contribute towards the overall strategic leadership and development of languages provision and teaching.
- Promote the safety and well-being of students and staff. Ensure good order and discipline amongst students and staff.
- Manage and lead on standards, care and pedagogy in Arabic and Islamic Studies;
- Lead self evaluation and school improvement in the department
- Prepare and evaluate lessons, activities and learning and teaching strategies through the maintenance of a professional teaching plan
- Provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment in which consideration is given to the individual development of all students
- Differentiate learning and teaching and associated resources in a manner that challenges and interests students and is appropriate to the needs and skill-levels of students
- Carry out a range of formative assessments of students attainments to acknowledge and inform progress
- Prepare students for and administer summative assessments including both school-based and external assessments, as appropriate
- Monitor the work of class students, providing guidance, advice and support, fostering self-esteem
- Write and maintain relevant records for individual student files and writing reports, communicating with parents on a regular basis
- Take an active interest in maintaining subject knowledge, learning networks and current educational research
- Behave at all times in a manner befitting a role model for the pupils of the school and in a manner that brings only respect to colleagues and the reputation of the school
- Maintain confidentiality with regard to all school matters at all times

Requirements

- Bachelor degree in Arabic language & Qualified teacher status.
- Good knowledge of the English National Curriculum, ICT competence, Good subject knowledge, Fluency in French would be an advantage.
- At least 5 years experience teaching the Arabic and Islamic Studies.
- Good communication skills, ICT skills, Experience of implementing a range of teaching pedagogies.
- Competence in the French language would be a plus.

The salary and benefits package is sound and will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate and is in-line with UAE Labour Law.

2 year contract with the option for renewal
