Our client is an established family group with a track record in entrepreneurial success across a variety of industries, employing over 1500 people worldwide. Their recent DIFC based multi strategy Hedge Fund launch employs non-directional option trading strategies across a range of derivative markets including fixed income, equity, commodity and currency, to generate attractive risk adjusted returns for investors. The Head of Sales role is a key senior position within the organisation and requires an experienced professional to perform the following duties:

• Client facing revenue generator with established relationships in the HNW and UHNW communities across the region.
• A strong and established network across the region.
• Sovereign / Royal Family relationships are a massive plus, but not a prerequisite.
• A proven track record in capital raising for discretionary portfolios, from local nationals across the GCC, with a minimum dollar investment in the region of USD 1m.
• Experience in capital raising activities for discretionary portfolios of various risk tolerances, including exposure to strategies similarly aligned to the trading strategy of the fund.
• The ability to steer clients towards a number of products offered by the fund, based on their risk appetite.
• A proactive relationship manager who can nurture long term relationships.
• This role is likely to grow into a management role, where the Head of Sales will eventually manage the entire sales activity of the Fund, including the marketing function of the Fund as well as additional sales / relationship managers.

Requirements

The Head of Sales role is a key senior position within the organisation and requires an experienced professional to perform the following duties:

• In excess of 10 years’ experience in a Hedge Fund or Asset Management Sales role, with strong exposure to the local GCC markets.
• Energetic and proactive individual who can quickly understand the Fund’s activities and raise capital to put to work from the outset.
• An individual with established relationships in the region. Proven network is essential.
• A highly credible individual who can be trusted by investors, who positively reflects the makeup of the Fund, its strategy and investment culture to prospective investors.
• The ability to steer the direction of the Fund’s capital raising initiatives across the GCC, with a view towards building a team around him.
• Demonstrate a flair for being able to direct marketing initiatives of the Fund and lead this part of the Fund’s activities (additional resource will be provided).
• Proven managerial ability in a sales role would be beneficial to support the future growth of the Fund.
• Hands on individual who can actively be involved in non-client facing duties when required, as part of the challenges which encompass working for a smaller organization.
• Professional qualifications, preferably a CFA are preferred but not a prerequisite.
• Exceptional communicator, fluent in English. Arabic preferred but not a prerequisite.
