Head of Audit and Compliance

Job description / Role

Our client, a leading international financial services firm, seeks to attract a Saudi National Head of Audit and Compliance.

For this position the successful applicant must be a Saudi National due to regulatory requirements.

To provide top level assurances on the adequacy and effectiveness of the governance program and identify and assess all risks. You will successfully oversee the compliance program to ensure regulatory requirements are met.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the audit & compliance department and it's operational budget
- Prepare the annual audit plan based on risk based internal audit (RBIA) principles
- Preparation of reports to the CEO
- Review compliance and regulatory guidelines issued by Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) to ensure all regulatory requirements are implemented and communicated
- Successfully develop and implement the functional compliance & audit strategy and cascade the message through the organisation
- Direct the development and oversee the implementation of; audit & compliance policies, processes, procedures & controls and that they are documented, approved, in place, communicated and reviewed periodically
- Ensure follow up of audit findings
- Monitor key operational risk events and look to lower these risk levels
- Respond to violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and initiate investigations as and when required

Requirements

- Strong professional Finance or Accounting qualification such as CMA, CFM, MBA, Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
- A minimum of 7 years exposure within a bank or financial services firm
- Minimum of 3 years leading and managing an audit & compliance function with board level reporting
- Saudi National Internal Audit professional
