Employment: Full Time

Our client is a leading money transfer and foreign exchange company based in the GCC. They have been in continues operation since the 1920s. They are looking to recruit a Head of Business Solutions Development

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day technology services issues for including prioritization, communication, and resolution of problems for all business applications; and coordinate related escalation processes with the CIO, software vendors and external service providers, as applicable.
- Demonstrate a consistent focus on customer service in interactions with business leaders and stakeholders across the company, by listening effectively to their needs, proposing potential technology solutions in business terms, and actively facilitating the achievement of expected business value of technology investments.
- Work with business leaders to define business solutions security, based on organizational roles/responsibilities and best practice segregation of duties; and define, implement, and manage process(es) to add/modify/terminate end-user application rights based on business need.
- Create, implement, and test IT policies and processes in the areas of software development and implementation; and ensure compliance with guidelines and requirements from the CIO, as well as generally accepted IT best practices.
- Plan and manage solutions, applications and development projects in coordination with the CIO; and define and implement an effective ongoing support model for these solutions, combining internal and external talent to be effective and cost-effective.
- Plan and manage other business applications projects, per the IT departments plans and priorities, including defining project scope and requirements, estimating and tracking project costs, planning and managing tasks and resources, assessing and mitigating project risks.
- Proactively identify technology and data risks and work with the IT managed services team leads to develop process that mitigate these risks.
- Define, implement and publish on a monthly basis key performance metrics for business solutions
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with business applications vendors and service providers
- Maintain a good working knowledge of current and emerging technologies related to areas of responsibility, through independent research.
- Help CIO in establishing and maintaining IT roadmaps, strategies, IT architectures, standards, policies and procedures to achieve business goals by identifying and prioritizing solution and development initiatives and setting timetables for the evaluation, development, and deployment of all business applications, mobile and internet-based services.

Requirements

- A Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
- PMP, ITIL, ISO20000 or ISO27001 certifications
- Formal training in business process analysis, Six Sigma and/or LEAN, facilitation, IT portfolio management, and change management
- 8+ years experience in Systems Development and Application Support, and an understanding of common application and systems development frameworks/models
- 5+ years in managing a team of high level IT professionals
- 5+ years experience in .NET Framework and Technologies, Oracle Technologies and
- Databases, and related development/support methodologies/frameworks
- Experience in managing a team of IT professionals in an enterprise environment, including management of personnel, work assignments, budgets and assets
- Experience in designing and implementing mission-critical systems and applications in an enterprise exchange business environment.
