The Role


The Role


Job Objective:

The role holder is responsible for building, growing and maintaining the bank’s investment banking business regionally and internationally in addition for providing ongoing direction and management for Investment Advisory, Debt Equities & Syndications and Debt Structuring and Originations. Also responsible for all the debt and equity raising for the banks ,its joint ventures, SPVs and subsidiaries.
Job Outputs and Responsibilities

General Responsibilities:

• Generating revenue from advisory fees from investment banking, capital markets focused, advisory business.
• Building an investment banking franchise and reputation.
• Prospecting and winning advisory mandates.
• Maintaining current market intelligence through frequent interaction with investment banks, firms of professional advisors and other financial institutions;
• Leading, building and managing a team of high calibre individuals;
• Management of right issue programmes; selection and appointment of third party advisors;
• Management of third party due diligence programmes;
• Responsible for strategy and execution of the bank’s long term capital requirements including raising medium and long term financing facilities;
• Provide advice to management and board on long term plans and opportunities;
• Liaising with financial institutions;
• Contributing to and influencing business strategy, in line with the overall bank’s strategy;
• Recommending objectives, policies, and plans for the business;
• Establishing and maintaining networks for co-operation with other business associated with the parent company to support the creation of solutions to customer needs that span national product boundaries and regulatory environments;
• Conduct other duties and special project as required.
• Management of communication and relationships with rating agencies;
• Focus on ECM and DCM areas;
• Expand advisory franchise into M&A and corporate restructuring over time;
• Seek to leverage global FI relationships to assist local clients;
• Liaising with financial institutions in seeking advisory mandates.
• Actively seeking regional business partnerships or Joint Ventures to synergistically expand the bank business model / regional coverage;
• Manage presentations and information regarding the bank’s corporate position and business model for external parties;
• Identifies resources needed and assigns individual or team responsibilities;
• Liaising with other Investment banking professionals in other organisations in order to gain the benefits of best practice;
• Leading and coaching the development of more junior members of the Investment Banking team;
• Responsible for strategy regarding communications with financial markets institutions, in particular with regard to liquidity and capital initiatives;
Debt:
• Source, structure and syndicate debt for the bank’s various project companies or funds, clients and proprietary debt;
• Responsible for restructuring and raising debt for the bank, its products and its client.
• Responsible for ensuring issues are managed and product delivery remains on target for cost, time and quality, ensure governance, manage risk, and reporting
Equity
• Responsible for strategy and execution of the bank’s capital requirements including raising equity and equity based capital as necessary;
• Responsible for the bank equity transactions in a variety of categories which include public and private equity raisings for the bank;
• Market bank products to potential and current institutional investors in MENA, Asia, the USA and Europe as required;
• Maintain current market intelligence through frequent interaction with investment banks, trading desks and the research community;

Job Requirements (Minimum level of education, professional qualifications, background and years of experience required to do the job).

• MBA or BA in Finance, Marketing, Accounting or Management;
• CPA or CFA;
• 10-15 y ears of banking experience in an executive managerial role;
• Experience in banking, financial services organisations or investment management marketplace;
• Can identify and analyze complex issues and problems in management areas and recommend and implement solutions;
• Strategic thinker with commercial focus and a drive to motivate a team to success;
• Can manage office functions economically and efficiently, organize work, establish priorities;
• Exceptional oral and written interpersonal and communications skills;
• Excellent supervisory and leadership skills;
• Demonstrate willingness and ability to delegate; and
