Job description / Role

Head of Construction (Arabic Speaking) - Oil and Gas/Refinery/Petrochemical/Industrial Projects

- Directs the overall planning of construction activities to identify critical milestones and priorities. Ensures that critical milestones are met for each phase of the project.
- Leadership accountability for and management of the construction department including performance of the department, manpower management, timely and cost effectively accomplishment of all objectives, management of budget and control of expenses
- Establishes assignments for Construction personnels for various work areas of construction operations, monitoring progress and recommending corrective action as necessary.
- Anticipates and resolves various problems such as changes in scope, slippage of schedules, and budget overruns. Ensures the use of sound construction practices to attain required quality control.
- Prepares periodic reports summarizing progress of construction activities, delegation of responsibilities, monitoring their duties and business deliverables for higher-level management and clients, including formal presentations.
- Ensure Implementation of corporate strategies, philosophies and ethics in the construction organization and at construction sites, etc.

Requirements

- Formal qualification in Engineering
- Extended knowledge of construction methodologies and technologies applied within the business
- Several years of construction experience including management of large construction sites
- Proven success in managerial positions
- Clear focus on safety and high quality as well as result oriented profitable growth ambitions
- Empathic communication and motivation skills
- High social and cross-cultural leadership and personality competencies
- Change management and innovation skills
- Determined and self-assured appearance
- Excellent track record within the industry as attested to by references
