Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The primary purpose of this role will be to support the development and execution growth and business development strategies while ensuring they meet the organisations vision and achieve the business sustainability. Reporting to the CEO, this is an extremely high profile role.

Responsibilities will include;
- Defining and driving the strategic roadmap and business strategy based on market analysis to understand the market challenge and develop the corporate strategy.
- Assisting in developing business and strategic plans and foster communication of the strategy throughout the organization and ensure alignment with objectives.
- Developing department policies, processes and procedures to ensure all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled.
- Analysing the strategic and financial performance of industry players, including their financial results and projections, acquisition and divestiture activity and impact, as well as views of industry and segment trends to determine opportunities and challenges.
- Leading the management of change through continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account international best practice, changes in international standards and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans.
- Identifying new organizational capabilities necessary to sustain long-term competitive advantage and growth.
- Preparing and recommending the development of department budget, and monitors financial performance versus the budget to ensure alignment.

Requirements

This individual will have a minimum of 15 years of experience in downstream and manufacturing industries, in particular petrochemical industries.
- They will also have introduced and developed new strategic business units that have increased revenue through either M&A, stand-alone projects or joint ventures.
- Proven ability to build, develop and motivate a strong and efficient Corporate Strategy and Business Development organisation.
- Outstanding collaboration skills, with proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders across business lines to accomplish shared goals and manage expectations
- Demonstrate very strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt quickly
- An MBA is advantageous
