Head of Department – Mechanical

Job description / Role

We are representing a leading international EPC organisation servicing the Oil and Gas industry with a major international presence. My client require a Head of the Department for the mechanical design of both Greenfield and Brownfield oil and gas projects to be based in Al Khobar Saudi Arabia.
Duties as Head of Department include:
• Providing technical excellence and standards for the department
• Prepare work force staffing requirements and process schedules for projects.
• Assist in preparing the list of deliverables and estimation for the proposals.
• Routinely communicate with Client counterpart on project.
• Supervise work of other Mechanical Engineers assigned to the jobs.
• Oversee / review AFDs, Floor Plans and Hydrant network P&IDs and present to peers or clients.
• Oversee / review Process Equipment specifications and data sheets

Requirements

• 20 years post B.Sc. qualification experience in the in the Oil and Gas, Refining or Chemical Industry
• Has experience in the oil/gas, hydrocarbon, refinery, offshore, or infrastructure industries and is recognized as specialist in a specific engineering field on large to mega projects.
• Must have thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, international codes and standards, procedures, and specifications.
Previous experience in Saudi Arabia will be looked upon favourably.
