Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Legal support of pre-claim and claim activities of the Groups companies; organizing and conducting court and arbitration proceedings:
Prompt and complete advising as required by clients in respect of pre-claim and claim activities.
Prompt court and arbitration proceedings.

Legal support as regards execution of contracts for engineering, procurement and construction (hereinafter - EPC contracts), signed by the LUKOIL Overseas Group (the Group) entities, which are a part of the Integrated Service Center (ISC) competence, including supplementary agreements and related variations and other documents, establishing, changing or terminating the rights and obligations of the Group entities in the part of EPC contracts:
Mitigation of legal risk related to works under concluded EPC contracts.
Compliance of the legal documents prepared during execution of EPC contracts with the applicable legislation, basic title documents under the projects and corporate standards.

Advising, provision of clarifications and opinions on the application of letter of information within the Department's competencies:
Timely and full consultations and explanations, as well as their compliance with a customer's request.
Number of provided consultations, explanations and conclusions.

Functions:
- Organize legal support in respect of pre-claim and claim activities, court/arbitration proceedings of the Holding as requested by clients, including protection of rights and legal interests of the Holding entities through preparation of claims to contractors, submit and review claims, participate in court and arbitration proceedings, other methods of dispute settlement.
- Mitigate legal risks through appropriate reaction to information which may have negative legal consequences for the Holding: Prompt advising, provision of reference data and legal documents, inform specialists and managers of the Company about potential consequences and possible mitigations.
- Represent and provide legal protection of the Group's legal interests in courts and arbitration bodies when required.
- Provide legal memorandums, conclusions and consultations in respect of execution, variation and termination of contracts.
- Legal support in current negotiations
- Provide legal memorandums, conclusions and consultations in respect of legislation regulating execution, variation and termination of contracts.
- Make inquiries and conclusions on applicable legislation as regards international arbitration, court and administrative procedures and other procedures for dispute settlement.
- Prepare inquiries and conclusions on applicable legislation related to execution of EPC contracts.
- Regular monitoring of changes in applicable legislation.
- Set up interfaces with third party legal advisers as regards competencies of the Department.

Requirements

Education:
- Higher legal education, diploma issued by (wLegal support of pre-claim and claim activities of the Groups companies; organizing and conducting court and arbitration proceedings:
- Prompt and complete advising as required by clients in respect of pre-claim and claim activities.
- Prompt court and arbitration proceedings.

Relevant Professional Experience:
- Relevant professional background 8 years minimum, of which in dispute resolution in an international legal firm - 5 years minimum, of which in a manager's position in a legal department - 2 years minimum.

Professional skills, expertise and knowledge:
- Knowledge of specifics of contracts regulated by the English law.
- Knowledge of contract standards in oil and gas industry.
- Knowledge of specifics of the corporate legislation in the countries of the Group's and its contractors' presence.
- Knowledge of specifics of multi-jurisdictional and cross-border transactions.
- Knowledge of legislation of international and supra-national institutions, and also legislation with extra-territorial effect that is applicable to the oil and gas industry.
- Know how to draft contractual documents.
- Negotiation skills.
- Skills of legal audit of legal entities.
- Experience in handling claims, court and arbitration proceedings.

Language Skills: English - upper-intermediate

PC Proficiency:
- Microsoft Office;
- User of specialized software for well completion charts and diagrams.
