Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Corporate Logistics Team plan, move and control the flow of goods from point of origin to point of consumption across all divisions, markets and brands within Alshaya. Working closely with brand teams to ensure appropriate stock and delivery to store, the team manages a range of complex and diverse activities including shipping, freight, warehouse operations, customs clearance (in-bound and out-bound), compliance and project management.

The Role

This role involves working closely with internal contacts to ensure continuous stock flow from the Distribution Centres whilst improving productivity and managing operating costs. You will achieve this by:

* Creating, developing and maintaining good working relationships and networks both internally and externally
* Developing, motivating, appraising and training employees
* Continuously appraising the Distribution Centre management
* Driving performance by removing obstacles, improving processes, and recommending solutions
* Planning all inventory activities, appraising all procedures for controlling shrinkage and taking corrective action where necessary
* Planning for stock take and cycle counts
* Ensuring that stocktaking is conducted correctly, controlling shrinkage in line with company targets and analysing results and advising of any corrective actions
* Ensuring all housekeeping and health & safety standards are consistent with company policy
* Providing accurate reports and support to internal and external stakeholders
* Providing accurate information and support to operations and merchandising teams.
* Liaising with outside service departments, third party providers, and government agencies.

Requirements

* Should have thorough knowledge of supply chain management, retail operations, shipping & customs and distribution
* Should be a strong communicator and commercially strong
* Graduate qualification in logistics is desirable.
