Job description / Role
As the Head of Shared Services, you will be responsible for defining, creating and continuously improving the new Shared Services Team which will offer a Centralized Finance Function to the business in the GCC region. Excellent at managing people and with experience of liaising at board level, you will have a direct team of five supporting you, with a further thirty colleagues providing project and transactional accounting within the department. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates wishing to relocate and work in the region, or for candidates already in the region keen for a new challenge.
THE ROLE
• Define processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency of all standard procedures;
• Manage team to ensure strict deadlines are met
• Continuously review and improve processes and procedures
• Set and manage teams performance against agreed KPI’s
• Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure their requirements are met
• Ad-hoc support to relevant business improvement projects
• Management of external and internal audits
• Provide support to Regional Finance Director
Requirements
• Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA or other recognized Western Accounting qualification
• Excellent communication skills, particularly with regards to managing people and interacting with key stakeholders
• Ten years plus post qualified experience within a Finance environment with a bias towards technical accounting
• Proven track record of developing and running high performing teams within a Shared Services Environment, for a MNC
• Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• High standard of (numerical) presentation skills
• Working knowledge of other Microsoft office tools
• Experience of interacting with multiple businesses and finance functions;
• Experience of working within a multi-cultural environment.
• Working knowledge of JD Edwards, Hyperion and other finance specific IT systems and databases
