The RoleThe RoleAccountable for: Responsible for developing Internal Audit strategy in accordance with the board’s Audit Committee guidelines, regulatory requirements, best practice. Setting & approving the internal standards and policies and guidelines to develop and maintain a sound internal audit function using risk-based approach. Managing and monitoring the performance of desk and field business audit activities in compliance with internal and external requirements covering. Specialized functions covering risk areas: Treasury, Credit, IT, Operations and Finance. Branch operations (in all geographies). Ensuring adherence to SLAs and to pre-defined quality standards (when applicable). Providing an informed and independent opinion to the audited parties, the CEO and the Board’s Audit Committee. Reporting on regulatory compliance with local and foreign regulators. Ensuring continuous review and improvement of processes as needed to enhance the Bank/Group’s control framework. Assessing all direct reports according to their performance and ensuring management of all Group staff in a way to ensure optimum productivity and lowest attrition. Establish and communicate the scope and objectives for the audit to appropriate management. Report problems identified and negotiate action plans with management to address the problems. |
RequirementsRequirementsJob Requirements: Education: B.Sc. In Finance or Accounting degree from a recognized University. CIA, CPA, Associate of Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA), or other equivalent professional qualification is required. Experience: Over 18 years of banking experience, of which at least 10 in Internal Auditing or in the Banking practice of an external audit firm. Competencies: Fluent in English & in Arabic Experience in planning and executing assignments -and in handling multiple tasks and deadlines. Proven skill in negotiating issues and resolving problems. Excellent writing, presentation, & communication skills Good computer skills Good knowledge of the Bank’s P&Ps, SOPs, & of best practices |
