Head of HR Retail - Luxury - Dubai/UK

A reputable luxury retail company is currently recruiting for a Head of HR.

Purpose of the Job:
- Steer HR strategy and HR projects throughout the business, to help increase overall business performance.
- Gain support and buy-in of top management in driving change and implementation of HR strategy.
- Work closely with department heads to establish HR and L&D needs across the business and come up with appropriate HR solutions.
- Support and advise the management team on all HR related aspects within their teams.
- Continuously evaluate efficiency of current policies and practices in order to identify opportunities for improvement and development.
- Identify employee compensation issues and recommend changes based on performance, organizations salary structure and market benchmark.
- Coach and educate managers on resolving sensitive employee relations issues, dealing with underperformance and to increase their people management capability.
- Set direction in L&D initiatives, set direction in line with business requirements, approve all training materials, attend all pilot sessions to provide feedback, ensure planned L&D activities are delivered on time. Monitor feedback and progress on performance.
- Work closely with the L&D manager to assess capabilities and address talent development issues.
- Drive and implement mid-year and year end performance appraisal process. Analyze and compare results with previous appraisal cycles. Deal with under performance through coaching and personal development plans.
- Drive engagement initiatives across the organisation: Improve on internal communication, organize monthly management meetings, focus groups and hold employee surveys to increase engagement.
- Oversee day to day HR operations to maintain consistency and compliance to legal requirements.
- Undertake hiring of all senior management positions across the organization.
- Develop the HR team through mentoring, project assignments and personal development plans.

Requirements

- Evidence of delivering strategic initiatives that enhance business performance
- Experience in managing internal client relationships at strategic level
- Ability to demonstrate resilience in challenging environment
- Exceptional communicator with an ability to influence and persuade top management
- Sound knowledge of UAE and UK employment laws is essential
- Experience in a similar role in fashion retail or luxury hospitality in the UK and UAE
