The RoleThe RoleOur Client is a diversified global conglomerate providing Engineering & Construction services in Oil & Gas, Infrastructure and Petrochemicals, and with interests in Defence, Aviation, Marine and Upstream sectors. Job Description : To lead the operations in the development of principles and guidelines, processes, procedures and systems that are implemented to ensure proactive compliance with health, safety and environment regulations and requirements. Responsible for planning and developing the health, safety and environment procedures norms and policies for the various projects across the organization Responsible for developing a system to maintain the HSE related information and provide the same to the Business/Function Heads and sites as and when required Responsible for developing a mechanism of capturing the safety levels and statistics across the organization. Responsible for site coordination from HSE for effective implementation of all statutory requirements. Reviews the safety statistics of all locations Leads the analysis of non-compliance incidences to clearly identify causes, determine corrective courses of action and identify action steps to avoid recurrence. Responsible for reviewing the accident reports and plan for requisite action Responsible for coordinating with the site locations on data and statistics on HSE on an ongoing basis Responsible for the deployment of HSE personnel as and when required on site locations Leads the relations with selected external stakeholders (I.e. local authorities, vendors, contractors etc.) to ensure the organization is effectively equipped with understanding around regulations and requirements and to ensure external parties are complying with requirements when working for the organization in the execution of a project / contract. Leads the coordination with TP certifying agencies for lifting equipment certification Co-ordinate with sites on all issues related to HSE procedures and compliance related queries Co-ordinate with other Project Managers/Construction Managers on the implementation and adherence of HSE systems and procedures Co-ordinate with external auditing agencies and certifying agencies on an on going basis Leads the management of relations with existing or potential customers in all aspects related to HSE. Leads the relations with internal stakeholders (I.e., Business Development Head, Regional Heads etc) to ensure effective awareness, compliance and consideration is given to HSE issues during project / contract proposal or bidding preparation or execution and implementation. Responsible for setting the budget for the department, including budgeting of manpower requirements and training and development Responsible for planning and organizing the HSE training for the employees as per the requirements. Responsible for planning the development of Direct Reportees by discussing and defining the KRAs in the beginning of the year and review at the end of the year through Annual appraisals Creating awareness and education on the need for HSE and proposing hazards of non compliance Leads the participation of the organization in local and international forums to enhance awareness around latest developments in the function, regulations, requirements, systems, practices and to determine what can be done to proactively ensure the organization leads the industry in setting standards and practices around HSE. |
RequirementsRequirementsQualification : Engineer or Fire Safety Degree/Diploma Experience : Should have had hands on experience in the construction /EPC industry Should have a sound understanding of labour laws Overall experience of 15-20 years of which 5 years should have been spent as the head of HSE in a similar organization Other Details : Build superior talent Collaboration Operational Excellence Customer drive Championing change Business Orientation Entrepreneurship |
