Location: GCC - The location of the position will be determined following discussions with the selected candidate.

KEO International Consultants is a highly ranked and award winning planning, architecture, engineering and project and construction management firm with offices in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Bahrain, Dubai, Jordan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

Working as Head of HVAC Engineering within our Design Division, you will be representing the firm as senior function manager for the operation of the Mechanical Department, contributing to the effective development of the company through the application of good business and management practices and providing leadership to staff.

Preference will be given to qualified candidates who can demonstrate experience in the following:

• Developing and maintaining positive professional relations with current and prospective Clients.

• Actively participating with marketing and business development activities as requested, including coordination of technical and financial inputs.

• Working with Project Managers to establish work plans for integration of the Mechanical Department activities into the execution of projects through an agreed outline of scope, deliverables, standards, schedule and resource/responsibility plan.

• Reviewing and monitoring the implementation of quality assurance and control procedures for each project.

• Reviewing and analyzing project financial performance parameters.

• Monitoring use of technical resources and tools, and supplementing as appropriate to improve technical operations and standards, and ensuring there is a viable library of resources available for use by staff.

• Initiating and maintaining studies of local marketplaces relating to Mechanical Department products, vendors, contractors and trends.

• Monitoring the technical and professional capabilities and competencies of staff within the department and conducting performance appraisals.

• Strong HVAC design capability including the ability to critically review drawings, calculations and specifications at all design stages and provide valuable design input and direction.

• Strong organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal) are required.

• Knowledge of sustainable design and associated guidelines such as LEED, Estidama or QSAS.

• Knowledge of BIM and implementation of BIM systems within a department.

• Knowledge of design codes such as British Standards, ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, IMC and other International design codes is considered essential.

Requirements

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 15 years of related experience and at least 2 years experience in a similar role. Professional registration such as CEng, PE or similar is required.

Prior experience working within the Gulf Region would be advantageous.
