Head of IT

Job description / Role

Our client is a highly prestigious government entity based in Dubai with a reputation that is highly respected regionally. They currently seek a Head of IT to provide leadership, strategic planning and organisation of their IT systems and solutions across organisation, whilst maximizing business benefits.

This responsibility includes providing IT consultative services to the senior management, related to the use of technology, developing and enforcing IT policies and procedures.

To be successful the job holder requires strong project management, consulting and communication skills gained from their large scale corporate experience.

Responsibilities
- Provide Strategic Direction to the Department
- Lead and Provide Inputs on IT Policies and Procedures
- Ensure Secure IT environment and Platforms
- Realize Organizational Efficiencies
- Manage Budgeting and Reporting Responsibilities
- Enable People Management
- Special Projects

Internal Interaction:
Chiefs, Division heads and Department Heads for creating synergies, cross-division coordination mechanisms and information sharing regarding IT policies and processes.

External Interaction:
Government leaders in IT sector, Vendors and Consultant for inputs on adopting and implementing best practices for the organisation and for benchmarking.

- Functional Experience (No. Of years, Specialized Field if any)
- 10 to 12 years of relevant experience
- Leadership/Supervisory (No. Of years, Specialized Field if any, as a Manager)
- At least 7 years progressive leadership responsibility in an organization of similar scope and size
- Education and Qualifications Required
- Bachelors in Engineering preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science or related fields.
- Master's or equivalent in IT/Computer Science/Communication/Network is required.
- Recognized certifications such as Project Management Program certification, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), CCNA etc. is preferred. Any Additional Requirements (Language skills, Computer Skills)
