Employment: Full Time

Our client is a leading corrugated packaging supplier in the Middle East serving a wide variety of multi-national and local businesses. They have 3 state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in the Kingdom catering to businesses in the FMCG, agriculture and packaging sectors among others.

They are looking for a Head of IT, to be based in Jeddah, who will provide overall leadership and management of the IT Department to execute its strategies that will enable world-class service and technical innovation. The successful incumbent will provide the necessary vision and leadership in developing and implementing IT initiatives as well as ensuring support for these initiatives. He will help achieve the overall business strategy through the alignment of the IT Department’s strategy in improving service quality and achieving the overall technical company objectives. He shall also be responsible for all aspects of the company’s IT and systems, keeping management informed, monitoring developments and risk management.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Participates in strategic and operational governance processes of the business as a member of the management team.
• Leads the IT strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by encouraging innovation, prioritizing the IT initiatives, coordinating studies, deployment and management of current and future IT systems across the company.
• Develops and maintains an appropriate IT organizational structure that supports the needs of the business.
• Monitoring and implementing security and disaster recovery planning.
• Establishes IT departmental goals and objectives together with action plans.
• Identifies opportunities for appropriate and cost-effective investment in IT systems and resources, including staffing, sourcing and outsourcing.
• Develops, tracks and controls the IT annual operating and capital budgets.
• Ensures continuous delivery of IT services with oversight to ensure optimum IT systems performance.
• Reviews and controls maintenance contracts.
• Keeps current with trends and issues in the IT industry including current technologies.
• Promotes and controls strategic relationships between IT and vendors and support partners.
• Responsible for planning the IT organization chart, recruitment, development and retention of all IT staff in accordance with HR policies.
• Undertakes full responsibility for the IT projects. Plans the projects and schedules main tasks, e.g. deployment of ERP systems, BI implementations, availability and IT service continuity, LANs setup, document management, internet and e-mail provision and archiving in close coordination with the management considering target dates for establishing the underlying infrastructure.
• Controls the establishment and maintenance of the LAN and WAN network organizations.
• Establishes and maintains a reliable and efficient system’s access security across all LANs / WANs in accordance with company policy and co-ordination with the General Manager.
• Monitors systems deployment and setup keeping the General Manager informed and updated on progress and any problems encountered.
• Ensures effective training of all systems’ users on all application systems.
• Technical responsibility for operational efficiency and cost effective use of the department’s resources.
• Identify and train qualified persons to act as backup managers should the need arises.
• Periodically monitor networks performance for determining system modifications.
• Stay current on user and system software and hardware requirements.
• Develop alternate processing strategies to ensure application systems meet the demands of the users.
• Ensures IT standards and policies are being adhered to in all operational areas.
• Ensures that all systems are operational and are meeting the agreed schedules.
• Ensures that all IT staff are performing assigned responsibilities.
• Ensure that the General Manager is kept informed of systems and staff problems and current on project development activities by means of periodic reports.
• Undertake other responsibilities as may from time to time become necessary.

Requirements

• EDUCATION: BSc in Computer Science or related field. Preference will be given to those with BaaN background experience
• EXPERIENCE: 15 years IT experience, of which 5 years as Head of IT
• CERTIFICATIONS: Microsoft and other certifications
• Preference shall be given to Saudi Candidates
