The RoleThe RoleBAHRAINIS PREFERRED! Our client, a commercial bank, requires a Head of Information Technology, based in Bahrain. The job holder is responsible for directing, managing and coordinating systems in bank, ensuring that systems operate effectively, provide the IT technology infrastructure of the bank and contribute to banks policy with regard to quality standards and IT strategic planning. Job Responsibilities: Manage, coordinate and administer all the current and prospective Information Technology projects. Apply an understanding of core IT business functions, processes and strategic plans to daily operations in order to support the corresponding business processes. Develop & implement policy, procedures & standards in relation to IT. Propose objectives, plans & strategies for the future delivery of IT to both internal & external clients. Implement & manage projects in support of the delivery of IT. Develop and deliver innovative IT Service solutions to the business in accordance with agreed priorities, plans and standards. Maintain professional awareness of international developments and trends in IT and related areas and how they are influencing business and IT Operations. Manage IT staff performance & training and develop their skills related to IT. Planning, developing and implementing the IT budget, obtaining competitive prices from suppliers, where appropriate, to ensure cost effectiveness; Manage and ensure the smooth running of all IT systems, including anti-virus software, print services and email provision. Manage crisis situations, which may involve complex technical hardware or software problems. |
RequirementsRequirementsJob Requirements: B.Sc. in Computing or a related field from a reputable university with 10 + years of progressive experience in an IT operational environment in the banking industry is a pre-requisite. Experience of service delivery within an IT Service delivery framework (e.g. ITIL) will be a strong advantage. In-depth knowledge of IT operational functions - capable of applying the understanding of core IT business functions, processes and strategic plans to daily actions in order to support the corresponding business processes. Leadership and team building skills, capable of directing others towards shared objectives whilst building credibility and trust. Knowledge of established programming procedures and programming languages. Perform non-complex modification and testing on vendor-supplied utilities and packages to best suit the operating environment. Knowledge of current security standards and their application will be an added advantage |
