Head of Internal Audit - Amman, Jordan $100k pkg

My client, a leading retail chain is currently looking to recruit a Head of Internal Audit to join the offices in Amman, Jordan.

The position exists primarily to independently review the state of internal controls in the Company, identify weaknesses and suggest improvements or mitigating controls. The process of review and reporting will be carried out formally and based on a plan developed in coordination with the Group Chief Financial Officer.

Key deliverables:

* Agree an Annual Audit Plan with the Group CFO with a detailed breakdown of Business Cycles / Processes to be covered and time lines for Reporting
* Develop ICQ s( Internal Control Questionnaires) to obtain a good understanding of Business Cycles / Processes and use it to develop sound internal control programs
* Conduct a regular audit of transactions for due authorization , adequacy and completeness of supports
* Master Files
- Review set up of Product, Vendor and Customer Master Files for authorization and completeness
- Review changes to the above through Weekly System Exception / Control Reports and sign off
* Access Rights
- Review user access set up and recommend changes if required
- Automate to receive Weekly System Exception / Control Reports and sign off
* Ensure proper procurement processes for goods and services in place and followed
* Ensure Company’s Assets are properly recorded and protected. For the purpose conduct periodic physical counts
* Responsible for arranging and supervising Inventory counts of Products and Variance analysis
* Regular but surprise cash counts in Stores
* Any other projects under the direction of the Group CFO

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with a minimum of 10 years experience within medium/large businesses or Audit firms.

The candidate will be required to report to an English speaking board of directors and therefor must have exceptional communication skills in both English and Arabic.
