The RoleThe RoleMy client is a big Islamic Bank looking for a strong Internal Auditor to develop and lead their Internal Audit team. This is a key role as you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a sound Internal Audit function that would promote high standards of Business Control, Risk Management and Corporate Governance. You will also be providing an informed and independent opinion to the Board of Directors and the Senior Management on the effectiveness of the control systems in protecting the interests of the organization and its various partners. You will be responsible for: - Developing a flexible annual audit plan using an appropriate risk-based methodology, including any risk or control concerns identified by management, and submit that plan to the BoD for review and approval. - Implementing the annual audit plan, as approved, including any special tasks or projects requested by the management or the BoD through performing audits by assessing risk areas and testing internal controls. - Determining the adequacy, efficiency and effectiveness of the system's internal control structure and reporting significant issues, including potential improvements to the same and providing information concerning such issues trough resolution. - Liaising with regulatory authorities and external auditors for completion of regulatory audits in a seamless manner and to follow up on their reports for timely compliances. - Formulating department budgets in conjunction with organization budget, tracking expenses and ensuring adherence. |
RequirementsRequirementsThe ideal candidate is more likely to have: - Over 10 years of experience in Audit within the Banking industry - Strong and proven Islamic Banking experience - High degree in Finance or Banking from a recognised university - CIA is a big plus - Strong communication skills in Arabic and English |
