A luxury watches and Jewellery Company based in the UAE is looking for someone to Head up their Learning and Development department.

Responsibilities:
Contribute to the formulation and implementation of the departmental strategy and plans in order to ensure alliance with companies business line needs and objectives.
Manage the day-to-day operations of the respective department by providing expertise, encouraging and ensuring teamwork, and aligning work processes in order to achieve high performance standards, meet established targets and objectives, and ensure employee engagement in a motivated work environment.
Identify, formulate, and revise training and development policies and procedures to support companies strategy for employee development, the achievement of short and long-term objectives and the effective operation of the training and development function.
Formulate and implement plans for training activities in co-ordination with different departments and divisions to ensure that training activities are aligned and congruent with the needs of the departments and provide a value added contribution to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the company.
Oversee and manage the training scheduling and participant registration in conjunction with other Training department personnel to ensure that training is optimally scheduled and allocated to best serve the needs of participants within the business units and the minimization of disturbance to the flow of the operations.
Provide effective reviews, evaluations, and reports on the effectiveness and satisfaction with training programs and modules on a continual basis providing recommendations and suggestions for further improvement to ensure training delivered is up to date and meets the evolving training needs of employees.
Remain abreast of regional and international trends in training and development concepts and delivery methodology in order to identify those that can be recommended for effective adaptation and use.
Lead an effective assessment and validation process of the companys training requirements to ensure that proposals for optimal cost- effective programs are in place.
Manage the maintenance of appropriate training data and employees training records to ensure their continued availability for Management reference and for planning future trainings and long term objectives accordingly.
Coordinate with the Division Managers / Department Heads the planning for specific tailor-made courses to enhance the performance of companys employees and maintain an effective line of communication and understanding with the other departments and divisions.
Develop a career management program for high potential employees and manage them.
Develop learning tools and platforms to ensure optimal learning culture is developed and maintained across the organization.
Ensure participation in universities and colleges events to provide.
Internship opportunities for top performing students, and monitor their performance during their internship.
Manage the design and circulation of the induction program for all employees and work placement students and follow up on their implementation to ensure effective design, adequate circulation, and proper implementation.
Monitor the implementation of the performance management system and update training needs accordingly to ensure proper planning for upcoming trainings.
Ensure all relevant experience and knowledge is transferred to the direct reports to build a highly professional and knowledgeable workforce.

Requirements

The successful candidates will have:
Been in a Training managerial role for the past 4-5 years minimum.
5 to 8 years of progressive professional experience in human resources, with a focus on training and development in a luxury Retail sector where Training and Development is an integral part of the business.
Have experience in developing and managing E-learning platforms.
Experience in managing the transformation program post a Mystery shopping results or Guest Satisfaction Survey.
A results oriented manager having a strong track record of achievements.
Should have a strong experience in developing and managing sales trainings and customer service trainings.
Have experience in strategic planning and understand macro level business issues and translate that into training strategy and actions.
Have experience in at least 2 or more instances of setting up the Training department for a company from scratch.
Deep knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Fluency in English.

Training Delivery Skills.
Min. Bachelors degree in Business Administration, preferably with a focus on HR.
A Trainer with excellent delivery skills and should be certified as a trainer and facilitator from a well-recognized train the training body / organization.
