Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our client, a well-funded retail and hospitality group is currently looking for a Head of Leasing who will be responsible for identifying , sourcing and securing new properties for Business expansion across the Middle East in line with Groups direction and manage the existing properties with a view to enhance their performance.

Key Responsibilities will include:
- Source and secure new retail leasing properties, locally and abroad, as and when required, prepare plans, proposals and feasibility studies in line with the business development objectives
- Approach earmarked developers to present the options, negotiate commercial terms and legal/ contractual issues with retail property management to enable successful signing of the agreements
- Coordinate all aspects of retail leasing to enable a smooth transition from site selection to allocating the space to the relevant brand portfolios
- Conduct periodic analysis of property developments within the region and propose brand placement and allocations in line with the development and the market segment it is envisaged to cater to
- Develop and maintain a good knowledge of current and future developments, real estate trends and progress being made in industry, to assess the market and identify opportunities for future business presence
- Manage relationships with the retail property owners and all concerned authorities and parties and ensure appropriate benefits are derived from it
- Work closely with the Operations management / team with regard to brand roll out plans and ensure continued and full visibility to the Business Units on the location selection process
- Add value to brands development plan through regular meetings and feedback with the Operations team and assist in property roll out strategy for new proposed brand acquisitions
- Ensure that all legislative and regulatory documents and procedures related to the leasing of retail real estate are effectively carried out
- Review feedback and comments of BUs on allocated locations, identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring any issues are addressed in future

Requirements

- Preferably a University Degree in any discipline followed by a background or tertiary qualification in Property Management discipline or long and varied experience in the retail function/ industry
- Minimum Experience (number of years): 4-6 years of experience in leasing, out of which at least 3 years in a Managerial role in the commercial property leasing
- Behavioral Competencies: Results Orientation, Customer Service orientation, Functional Expertise, Collaboration & Teamwork, Effective Communication and Networking Skills
- Strong negotiations, communications and interpersonal skills
- Preference will be given to the candidate who possess an industry accredited certification like RERA, MECSC (ME Council of Shopping Centers)
