Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Manage all legal activities to ensure accurate and timely legal advice, analysis and support for company on a broad range of complex matters of significant strategic and/or financial value to the Company

Description
* Provide advice on structuring complex transactions and provide tactical direction in the resolution of complex disputes.
* Draft and negotiate any relevant agreements and any relevant supporting documents for company relating to a broad range of complex legal and matters.
* Review and improve company set of legal policies & procedures to ensure they meet business needs while complying with appropriate regulations.
* Revises policies and procedures for the implementation of Company's Code of Conduct, and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.
* Guide the development and implementation of legal best practices within Company.
* Advise the audit function and management committee on issues pertaining to hiring outside advisors, including legal counsel, accountants or other specialists.
* Present reports on all legal issues facing company to the CEO and Board of Directors on a periodic basis and as requested by concerned function heads.
* Represent company in the resolution of legal issues and address external organizations, including shareholder on behalf of the Company.
* Perform any job-related activities as requested by the immediate supervisor/manager.
* Set and oversee the implementation of the Function strategy and policies in line with the overall objectives, mission and vision of company.
* Set, monitor and allocate the Function budget in coordination with Finance.
* Oversee and lead the performance evaluation of reporting department managers and respective employees.
* Ensure proper communication channels between the different departments and other related functions.

Job Offer
up to 7,500 BD per month + bonus

Requirements

- You must be a Qualified Lawyer, solicitor or barrister (admitted to practice law in at least one jurisdiction).
- Hold a current practicing certificate (or equivalent membership of recognised professional law body)
- 20 years post qualification experience, preferred in a corporate legal department.
- International Experience (in particular GCC exp) a plus
- Broad corporate and commercial legal experience required.
- Experience in any of the following areas advantageous- Power and Energy, Engineering and Construction projects, Transportation and Logistics, Travel and Tourism
- Experience of managing a team of lawyers providing services

Skills:
- Excellent analytical ability and drafting skills.
- Effective English language communication.
- Service orientated with commercial awareness.
- Ability to work on a diverse range of client matters, whilst maintaining an overview of the Company's long-term commercial goals.
- Ability to negotiate with senior management and owners of a company
