The RoleThe RoleReal Estate and Property Development Firm Location: Qatar Excellent Expatriate Salary Package Growth of our client’s projects has now seen the need to appoint an in house Head of Legal / Legal Director to support the company’s construction projects. Our client, a Qatar real estate and property development firm, has created this exceptional opportunity for a Legal Director to lead, direct and manage their legal requirements for their firm specifically in commercial law across a holding group company. Candidates must possess strong international law knowledge. Reporting to the CEO, the responsibilities for this role comprise: • Preparation of commercial contracts for all construction and property requirements as a Developer. • Provision of legal advice and counsel in matters of contractual rights and obligations to minimize future disputes and litigation. • Review of contract information, documents and issues. • Ensure the firm acts within Qatar Law provisions. • Preparation and maintenance of all types of management contracts required during the normal course of business. • Provide legal advice and guidance to Senior Managers. • Prepare legal opinions on matters relating to the implementation of the Statutory Instruments of the Court. • Negotiate, review, advise and draft Agreements and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) • Act as an expert in acquisition, contracts, procurement and procurement integrity, procurement fraud, program management and government information practice. |
RequirementsRequirements• Law degree from an accredited institution accompanied by a license to practice law with a minimum of 5 years legal experience as in-house or private legal counsel specifically for a holding company ideally. Experience in both share holding companies and group holding companies highly desirable. • 10+ years’ experience in law with at least 5 years’ experience on an international level. • In-depth understanding of Common Law and contracts and commercial transactions. • Superior communication and interpersonal skills. • Demonstrated ability to achieve results and drive to succeed. • Highly effective language, communication and presentation skills. • Legal expertise in constitutional and administrative procedural processes, negotiation and settlement of disputes, acquisition and contracts, procurement integrity and fraud, preparation of legal opinions, correspondence, legislation, and contracts. • Must be bilingual in Arabic and English. |
