Job description / Role
A leading regional bank is currently looking to hire an experienced Legal Counsel to take the lead role in advising management, support functions and risk partners on laws as well as regulations that will impact the operations or commercial and financial position of the bank.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, working with the business and other support functions to assess the vulnerability of products and services to existing or future legal challenges and with an awareness of business priorities, help devise mitigation strategies, provide assistance and advice to the bank’s credit, recovery, trade and investment advisory business, reviewing and drafting standard agreements with clients and third party service providers as well as handling litigation issues and translation of court notices as necessary.
Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity you should possess a minimum of eight to ten years PQE gained within a reputable bank or law firm in the GCC, with work experience in the UAE being advantageous. You will possess strong knowledge of commercial and banking laws in conjunction to litigation experience and knowledge of the civil and criminal procedures and complex recovery exposure, along with the ability to work efficiently and proactively in a fast-paced corporate environment.
