The RoleThe RoleRT/DH: HEAD OF LEGAL Our client, one of the biggest international property development firms in the region is looking for a Head of Legal to join its dynamic team in Dubai. Responsibilities: • Deal with architects and other professional consultants. • Establishment and management of documentary records. • Negotiation, settlement of disputes and litigation management. • Deal with Master Developers, land registration, municipal and other regulatory authorities. • Negotiation and drafting of MoU’s, JVA’s, and Development Agreements with both private and public entities globally. • Advise on land acquisition program including review of land sale and purchase agreements and related documentation. Leading a team of in-house lawyers, the ideal candidate will have with specific experience in dealing with Master Developers, land registration, municipal and other regulatory authorities; advising on land acquisition program including review of land sale and purchase agreements and related documentation; establishment and management of documentary records; negotiation and drafting of MoU’s, JVA’s, and Development Agreements with both private and public entities globally; dealing with architects and other professional consultants. Construction experience will be well-regarded but is not mandatory; negotiation & settlement of disputes; and alternative dispute resolution and litigation management. However, strong corporate lawyers with an interest in the field of construction will also be considered. |
RequirementsRequirements• Must be a qualified lawyer. • Excellent English & (ideally) Arabic skills, spoken and written, are required. • Experience in the construction industry will be well-regarded but is not mandatory. • Strong corporate lawyers with an interest in the field of construction will also be considered. • At least 15 years post-admission experience, of which at least 2 years in house legal experience should be in the Gulf / MENA region. You will have 15 years post-admission experience (of which at least 2 years should be in the Gulf / MENA region). You must be comfortable and confident to report to a board level, and thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment. Excellent English & (ideally) Arabic skills, spoken and written, are required. Excellent communication and inter-personal skills will be supplemented with your positive and pro-active personality. The position will also provide exposure to other non-core matters.
