Employment: Full Time

Key Objectives:
* Supervise all operations related to logistics -- KPI, inventory, supply chain, transport, Integration of information & customer requirements.
* The objective of the above is to manage the flow of goods, information and other resources, including energy and people, between the point of origin and the point of consumption in order to meet the requirements of the management (targets) and consumers frequently( just in time availability, timelessness of deliveries, safe, secure storage and distribution)
* Assist in budget development, preparation of procurement plans and spending plans relating to logistics expenditure and operational costs.
* Define, develop and implement Logistics plans, policies and procedures in line with corporate Logistics strategy in order to support the achievement of overall business objectives.

Position Responsibilities:
* Establish consistency in processes and performance across logistics operations.
* To lead and manage the Department, defining, developing and implementing logistics plans, policies and procedures that meet the needs of the Business.
* Ensure the effective implementation of plans, policies and procedures through leadership - setting goals and objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating employees - in order to ensure the highest levels of performance are achieved.
* Establish detailed activity and improvement plans for supply chain logistics operations taking into account all operational demands, resources available, budgetary controls, supply chain constraints, turnaround commitments aligned with operational business objectives.
* Continually review, allocate and manage resources (labor, equipment, skills) according to changing needs brought on by demand
* Undertake any adhoc projects, initiatives, tasks as directed by the Management.
* Manage annual allocated budget, managing expenditure up to set limits, optimizing and reducing costs where possible and reporting variances versus budget, in order to ensure effective cost management.
* Oversee the development of policy and procedure improvements in order to ensure the ongoing development of logistics provision and standards.
* Develop and maintain good working relationships with external agencies and suppliers in order to support the smooth provision of logistics services across the organization.
* Liaise regularly with senior business management in order to understand ongoing business activities and developments and the implications this will have for coordinated logistics provision.
* Prepare management information reports in order to ensure that the management has the relevant
* information needed to support strategic decision- making.
* Personally resolve critical logistics problems in order to ensure contractual commitments are met and any operational impact is minimized.
* Negotiate with key suppliers and logistics service providers on contract issues in order to ensure best value purchasing terms are obtained.
* As the Logistics Group Manager I am responsible for multiple customer accounts. It will include the management and improvement of services provided to customers, as well as the development and implementation of 3pl performance measurements.
* Implementing health and safety procedures at all times
* Managing staff training issues
* Motivating other members of the team
* Project management
* Setting objectives.

Requirements

• In-depth professional logistics knowledge and expertise
• Well developed knowledge and understanding of the business environment
• Excellent understanding of supply chain systems, procedures and standards
• Thorough knowledge of relevant local import, export, clearance, transportation, land warehousing laws and regulations
• Thorough knowledge of procurement, shipping, clearance, transportation and warehousing methods and procedures
• Knowledge and understanding of financial planning and budgeting processes
• Strong analytical skills

• Good communication skills - written and verbal

• Ability and flexibility to understand the cultural and political environment and to work well with the local authorities.
• Well experienced in International Trade, Import Operations and UAE Customs Laws.
• Good command over English and locally required language (Arabic).

Qualifications:
• 10 years of relevant experience within the Middle East
• Knowledge of International Trade, Import Operations and UAE Customs Laws
• Masters Degree from a recognized university
• Ability to travel 10% of the time and as required.
