Head of MENA Audit - Qatar

Our client is a global network of sports channels with headquarters across the Middle East, France, Indonesia and the US is currently undergoing significant executive talent growth given its formation in 2012. The firm currently operates and provides services across the Middle East, North Africa, France, USA, Indonesia, Canada, HongKong and Thailand. The Executive Team are now looking to recruit a Head of MENA Audit to their Audit team to be responsible for administering the daily work conducted by the staff, delivering the MENA Operation Audit Plan, reporting & communicating the results to the Director of Audit, and obtaining accomplishment of the program in accordance with the Standards.

Reporting to the CEO and managing a high performing team; this role is responsible for the following:

• Participates in preparing the draft annual audit plan of the MENA Audit Section
• Plans the audit assignments in accordance with the division’s audit plan.
• Prepares the audit assignment forms.
• Coordinates the audit process and makes the final review of the management risk register.
• Identifies the activities subject to engagements coverage, evaluates their significance, and assesses the degree of risk inherent in the activities in terms of cost, schedule, and quality.
• Assigns engagement areas and budgets to staff after approving the purpose, scope, and the approach of the assigned areas.
• Prepares audit program using risk-based planning approach.
• Monitors the progress on the engagement s assigned in connection the audit plan.
• Directs engagements to assure that competency is maintained in the whole audit phases.
• Executes the system of schedule control over engagement projects.
• Reviews the audit working papers prepared by the Auditors, and prepare the review notes to ensure satisfactory completion in accordance with the related Audit Standards.
• Assures the efficiency and effectiveness of the risk management, control, and governance.
• Reviews the draft audit report and discuss it with the Auditors.
• Reviews and communicate the timesheet of the staff and the final draft audit reports to the Director of Audit.
• Recommends ways to improve the audit work process.
• Trains the audit staff and advises them on solutions for problems or issues.
• Follows-up previous audit recommendations.
• Performs audit work for Head Office as assigned by the director of Internal Audit.

Requirements

The attributes we seek for suitably qualified candidates comprise:

• Minimum Bachelor degree in Accounting or related field with Masters highly regarded.
• Professional certifications (CPA, CIA, etc.) are preferable
• Minimum of 9 years of professional experience in a related audit field in a large organization.
• Experience in the MENA regional sector for audit roles is highly desirable.
• Exceptional communication and strong attention to detail.
