The RoleThe RoleOur client is a Group of companies that was established in 1975; 100% Omani owned and listed on the Muscat Securities Market. This group is measured as one fastest growing and well-established engineering groups in Oman today. The EPC Contracting Company is the biggest business unit for the Group and is engaged in civil, electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, pipelines, painting, coating and telecommunications contracting. The company is ISO 9001-2000 certified and has successfully executed a variety of construction projects in the oil & gas (upstream & downstream), power plants, power transmission & distribution, industrial infrastructure projects, petrochemical and water/waste water sectors. Employing almost 4,700 people, our client has a strong presence in the Sultanate of Oman and new offices in Dubai and Abu Dhabi to help aggressive expansion plans throughout the GCC. Our client wishes to recruit a Head of Power, to manage the newly restructured power division. Reporting directly to the CEO and managing a team of Project Managers, Construction Manager & Engineers. The ideal candidate will be required to provide the vision, leadership and direction to all regional power activities by establishing and executing multiple power projects; as well as providing support to organizational growth strategies within Oman and the GCC. |
RequirementsRequirements• 20 years experience within the power sector; at least 10 years at a senior management level in a contracting company leading multiple power plant projects from inception through to completion. • Qualified Engineer. • Must have hands-on experience in the Project Management of Power Plants on EPC basis; preferably gas-based open/combined cycle. • Experience in managing EPC contracts in Power Plants, Substation/Overhead-line projects. • Middle East experience is a distinct advantage.
