Head of Procurement & Supply Chain - Hospital
Excellent Head of Procurement & Supply Chain job available with an international hospital based in Abu Dhabi. You will be responsible for heading up the planning of the procurement, production, inventory, logistics and distribution departments. Reporting directly to COO this is an outstanding opportunity for a procurement / supply chain professional looking to further their career.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Mange the relationships between many different vendors and information technology systems.
Train, develop, mentor and assist subordinates. It is essential that the various components of the team function effectively.
Maintain fiscal responsibility for the procurement operating budget.
Oversee the daily operations of the Purchasing Department to maximize staff effectiveness and efficiency in delivering services.
Administer contracts; include management of changes & variation, contracts preparation and adherence.
Ensure staffing levels are sufficient in order to provide excellent customer service in accordance with purchasing policies and procedures.
Manage inventory & logistics hospital wide to ensure uninterrupted supply.
Manage and oversee a warehouse set-up.
Develop, maintain and communicate procurement, and sourcing policies, procedures and practices.
Provide monthly reports on key productivity indicators to monitor departmental effectiveness and manage Supplier relationships.
Provide professional procurement and related advice to internal client departments, up to and including senior management.
Oversee the timely renewal and negotiation of all local contracts
BSc degree in procurement or equivalent qualification; preferred, relevant post graduate degree (MSc).
Minimum of 10 years postgraduate experience in procurement & supply chain experience in a Healthcare provider environment, leading a team with demonstrated ability to develop an effective approach to process improvement, value analysis and problem solving.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong customer relationship and interpersonal skills at a senior level.
Previous Middle East experience is essential.
