The RoleThe RoleHead of Projects and Planning (Definite 12 to 18 Months) JOB PURPOSE: Head ITT Projects Management and Planning function. Oversee the Planning, monitoring the execution, and closure of ITT programs and/or projects efficiently. This includes cost, schedule, resource management and coordination between various team members and third-party contractors / consultants to ensure timely project delivery according to plan. Define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle, help in building ITT projects frame work/methodology and make sure that all programs/projects are following the agreed projects management frame work and methodology. Work closely with the IT & Telecom Manager in establishing the department’s strategies, Set priorities and will help in monitoring the budget expenditure and the associated forecasting. ACCOUNTABILITIES: Department Strategy Formulation - As a senior member of the ITT Department team, contributes to the formulation and implementation of the ITT Department strategy and plans as appropriate the department needs and objectives as it pertains to projects. Section Management - Supervise the day-to-day running of the Projects and Planning Section, ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established standards and procedures, employees are motivated, understand what is expected of them and perform according to the designated standards. - Manage and direct ITT projects from beginning to end. - Create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning. ITT Projects and Planning Initiatives - Assist in managing ITT initiatives from ideas to formal projects (project pipeline management) - assessment and funding approval in order to ensure alignment of the same with the company’s strategy and objectives. - Assist in managing ITT projects in order to ensure efficient execution within accepted time and budget constraints. ITT Programs and Projects Management - Develop an ITT specific methodology for managing projects. - Gather business requirements from various line of business in line with ORYX GTL strategic goals. - Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with management and stakeholders. - Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents. - Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools. - Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. - Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis. - Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals. - Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary. - Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required resources. Projects Governance and Control - Manage programs and projects in order to ensure a timely completion of the project at hand according to cost, time, budget and quality. - Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders. - Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team. - Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path. - Track project milestones and deliverables. - Develop best practices and tools for project governance and control. - Build and periodically revise projects management frame work and methodology. Management Reporting & Ad-hoc Project Representation - Supervise the development and delivery of progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations. - Supervise project post mortems and creation of recommendations reports in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements. |
RequirementsRequirementsMinimum Qualification: - Bachelors in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. - PMP, Prince2 - Masters is a plus. Minimum Experience: - 5 – 6 years in providing ICT Programs and Projects Management with a working knowledge in ICT technical preferably in the Oil & Gas Sector but not a must. - Thorough (hands-on) expertise in implementation of standard packages as well as in in-house solutions.
