Head of Quantity Surveying, Architecture & Engineering Company

Job description / Role

ROLE OBJECTIVE

To lead the company’s Quantity Survey Section ensuring that effective quantity and cost controls are utilized for the development of contract documents

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and standards, applicable laws and regulations; monitor all section staff and ensure their compliance to the same

Support other Heads of Sections in the evaluation of proposals submitted by sub-consultants during RFPs

Attend tender openings; design strategies for the procurement of contractors and sub-contractors, ensure that the services cater to client requirements

Manage and supervise the preparation of tender documents (e.g. bill of quantities, specifications, contract conditions, drawings etc) which are issued to clients for their review

Monitor and ensure that Quantity Surveyors are coordinating effectively with the various architects and engineers throughout the project (planning, concept, preliminary, final etc.)

Negotiate with contractors (as and when required) in order to assist Clients to meet budgetary requirements

Make periodic site visits and attend site meetings (e.g. progress meetings, coordination and specially called meetings etc.) as and when required

Requirements

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors Degree in Quantity Surveying
Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors/Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
15-20 years experience in Quantity Surveying
