Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Plan, budget and effectively administer retail operations to ensure all retail units meet specific financial and operational targets and KPIs (budget, sales, revenue, stock control and profit margins). Monitor and analyse the P&L of individual pharmacies and devise appropriate strategies to address negative variations and capitalize on new growth opportunities.
Maintain strong and open communication channels between retail and commercial divisions. Ensure new customer insights are channelled effectively to commercial team and incorporated into buying decisions.
Collaborate with Marketing to assess and execute promotional and advertising opportunities that will optimise sales and expand customer reach. Execute effective and impactful marketing programs, promotion plans and brand building exercises as developed by the Group Marketing Manager. Provide regular feedback to Marketing on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns against ROIs and specific KPIs.
Build customer centricity in the pharmacies, including design and implementation of customer-centric processes and enhancing and measuring customer satisfaction and loyalty. Liaise with Area Managers and Pharmacists to determine and address key drivers of customer satisfaction / dissatisfaction.
Supervise all retail units to ensure operational efficiency, compliance with regulatory standards and standardization of all management and reporting processes. Ensure all retail units comply with relevant health and safety requirements and trading standards.
Liaise with pharmacists, Area Managers and the Commercial team to identify and efficiently procure new products, in line with consumer needs and market demands, to maximize sales and profitability.
Remain informed of critical developments and trends in the market and competitor landscape that might adversely affect the business position. Execute strategies to effectively address these developments and drive the business forward.
Collaborate with HR, Finance and Country Manager to develop and implement a robust employee incentive scheme to ensure team is motivated and incentivized to promote sales and increase revenue-generating activities.
Conduct periodic reviews and performance appraisals of team members to identify and address training needs and skills gaps and ensure continuous development by setting measurable objectives.

Requirements

The Head of Retail UAE is responsible to drive higher levels of customer satisfaction in the pharmacies in UAE. He / she plans, directs and leads the UAE retail operations with a focus on customer service, year on year increase sales and market share and ensuring that the pharmacies comply with all regulatory requirements at all times. The role-holder will ensure continued growth of Planet Pharmacys retail brand and sustain its unique customer value proposition.

Bachelors degree in Pharmacy or relevant field from an accredited college or university and / or a Bachelors degree or diploma in Sales and Marketing. A Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree preferred.
Minimum 10 years of Sales and Marketing experience in retail sales preferably in pharmacy business.
